The recent weeks feel like they are zooming by so fast. So much work, both home and business related. My wife and I have never been this busy before. My wife, aside from her regular teaching job, now has 1 or 2 private English classes a day. This leaves me with less work time though I am trying to wake up a little earlier to fit in a bit more. Plus that with our keeping up with the children’s schooling, taking Kayden to two clubs during the week, ensuring good exercise time for our wild boys, cleaning up around the house, doing the laundry… and you have one blur of a week.
Yesterday was Fathers day. My wife and children made fathers day real special for me.
First I had a nice sleep in… something I don’t get to do too often and woke up to a special breakfast of delicious breads and a nice cold cup of coffee. But best of all there was a sweet hand made card with a note from my wife and two sons.
I was just wondering how people must really see your kid. I know that my sense of judgement is way off with my kids. I think of them as just the cutest in the whole world, but I’m sure other parents see their kids as the cutest in the whole world too. I see other cute kids and I think they are cute, but still my kids are the cutest. It’s just the way it is.
Then I was wondering who would think my kids are cuter then my wife and I ever could and only one word came to me…Grandma. To Grandma I’m sure my kids are not even human. They probably look like angels to her. Little angels who are always sparkling and every word from their mouths is a little lullaby.
Grandmas are special people. They see almost all your child’s good points and almost none of the bad. Every time Grandma comes over it’s like a big Christmas and Birthday Celebration for the kids. They love her so much and boy oh boy how she loves them. She calls almost every day just to hear their voice. ha!
So I just celebrated my birthday with my lovely wife and children. Nothing fancy, but my wife went the extra mile to make me feel loved. She is really something.
A big thank you to anybody who wrote or called me on my birthday it made me feel loved. I think I will have an awesome year since many people wished it for me. Cheers!
This whole week has been actually quite tough. I think I had hit a big low in my mood and I wasn’t as happy and focused as I should be, but after yesterday and today I feel great and ready to take on the next week.

Today was a big day for my son. Kayden swallowed his fear, took the plunge and learned how to ride his bike with out his training wheels. Woot woot!
Of course Getting on and getting off his bike is still less then graceful, to say the least, but still it’s a big step for Kayden.
Three cheers for Kayden.

Sean is really starting to like playing games and interacting with me. I’ve been play a game with him where I sneak up behind him and say “Ba!” (Which is pretty much saying “Boo!” in Japanese) and Sean would laugh and run away. But I was always the instigator of this game and have always been the one chasing him. Now however Sean has started coming up to me at random times during the day and grabbing my legs and saying “BA!”
Here is a little art I quickly drew up (threw up?) in the small bit of personal time I had. It’s a bit messy and not as clean as I’d like, but I think it is quite beautiful. The concept of the piece is quite random. I don’t think anybody who first glances at this photo will think it has anything at all to do with mothers. haha
The pink tree is supposed to be the mother tree and the other big tree is the father tree and those are two little saplings representing children (my two sons to be exact)
Like I said…totally random concept.
Any ways here is to all Mothers who work tirelessly to provide the best for their children in whatever way possible. Becoming a mother is not about having a child, it’s about changing your whole life around to care for and nurture him/her. Its about setting aside your personal wants and needs and placing the needs and wants of your children in front of your own. Not an easy thing to do! So if you have accomplished this amazing self sacrificing feat, then this day is for you. I hope that your children (or husband or whoever) pays special attention to you and makes you feel like all the work you do was worth it. I hope all you mothers get a little spoiled on this special day.
Cheers to all the hard working mothers…and Grandmothers too.
