Another action filled week has rushed by. I’ve been doing a few art projects recently that have prevented me from posting as much as I like on my blog. I really love my work though and I wanted to give you all a little sneak peak into the art I have recently created. I will write a full posts on these projects later, but for now you can enjoy the work in progress photos. These are two separate projects I am currently working on.
Art for a new kids card game – Monsters Under My Bed
Illustrations for a children’s story – The Kingdom of Vog
Aside from just my work, my wife’s work is also getting picking up more. She has more private English teaching jobs along with her regular teaching job which has kept her quite busy and which in turn has given me more time with the children.
Here are some of the more notable occasions in my week with my sweet children.

Sean is really starting to like playing games and interacting with me. I’ve been play a game with him where I sneak up behind him and say “Ba!” (Which is pretty much saying “Boo!” in Japanese) and Sean would laugh and run away. But I was always the instigator of this game and have always been the one chasing him. Now however Sean has started coming up to me at random times during the day and grabbing my legs and saying “BA!”

It’s been a very busy week. Grandma came over for a visit again from the 23rd of April. We were all very excited to see her, but Kayden was especially happy. He helped prepare Grandmas bedding and cleaned the room with me.
We went to pick her up from the highway bus at 7:30 that night. Grandma had brought some gifts from Kayden’s friends. They wanted to give the presents to Kayden and Sean for their birthdays, but since they live a bit far away, they gave it to Grandma to bring to us. It was very nice and it was like a birthday all over again for my kids. Kayden got a truck and a sleek car and Sean got a cool airplane. So nice!
She’s so pretty…even with that brush in her hair.
I took the kids out side to the beach for a bit before lunch.
The weather has really warmed up. Enough even for Kayden to be able to take off his shoes and go splashing in the water a bit.
It is amazing how popular 外人 (foreigner) children are among Japanese girls. Well maybe it isn’t actually that amazing. Japanese are some of the biggest lover of cute things. Almost anything famous on tv shows, snacks, toys, animes and games have something cute in them. Good example is anime. All the characters have ENORMOUS eyes. Huge…unreal eyes. Which is why Japanese girls love foreigner children. They love them almost as much as their Pikachu and Hello Kitty. Continue reading
