Rainy season seems to be gone and we are left with wonderful warm sunshine…and by “wonderful warm sunshine” I of course mean unbearable blistering heat. Will I never be thankful for the weather? ha

I am actually very thankful for the sunshine because the kids are a lot happier when they get to play outside. And happy kids equals happy parents.

Another action filled week has rushed by. I’ve been doing a few art projects recently that have prevented me from posting as much as I like on my blog. I really love my work though and I wanted to give you all a little sneak peak into the art I have recently created. I will write a full posts on these projects later, but for now you can enjoy the work in progress photos. These are two separate projects I am currently working on.

Aside from just my work, my wife’s work is also getting picking up more. She has more private English teaching jobs along with her regular teaching job which has kept her quite busy and which in turn has given me more time with the children.

Reading with Kayboo

It’s quite hilarious (and sometimes a bit frustrating) reading with Kayden. He has a habit of looking at the picture and trying to guess what the words say based on what he sees.

Miracle Shoe

Today my wife handed me the chalk again…why? Because the rain that happened yesterday had made kayden’s race track disappear. He was quite distraught over that. So I was tasked with drawing a new one for him. So the kids and I headed once more to the tennis court and I started drawing Kayden a race track…well that is what he thought. When I was finished it looked like this.

This was Kayden’s reaction: “Yay yay! You made it! You made me a big racing tra….. WHAT!? …..Daddy this is a … a … MAZE! Daddy I don’t want a maze!”

LOL! It was a pretty good maze too. It had only one way to get to the goal! nice!

Chalk Fun

Japanese day

Today Kayden got a great deal of Japanese schooling done. In the morning Mommy did some Hiragana letter tracing and quiz with him before she had to head off to work.

She’s so pretty…even with that brush in her hair.

I took the kids out side to the beach for a bit before lunch.

The weather has really warmed up. Enough even for Kayden to be able to take off his shoes and go splashing in the water a bit.

Today was quite a busy day with lots of comings and goings…and lots of arts and crafts with the kids.

In the morning I worked on a little sheep project with Sean. First we cut out the little sheep. I would hold Sean’s hands and he would open and close the scissors.

Then we put glue where his wool would be and ripped up cotton together and placed it all around.

We used some old laundry clips for the legs and it was finished! Sean was very pleased with himself and enjoyed looking at it long enough for me to snap a picture.

Spring time is coming

Today Kayden got a bit of a bloody nose. It’s not as bad as it sounds though. We were playing on the beach and Kayden was climbing some rocks when he jumped down in front of where Sean was throwing rocks. Just as Kayden landed Sean had thrown a rock and it hit him right in the face. Sean is not strong (Maybe for a 1 year old he’s strong. I don’t know) so it didn’t hurt Kayden too much, but it did give him a nasty bloody nose. Because of the bloody nose it looked horrible. So I rushed him to the beach to wash some of the blood off his face. Sean came toddling behind us and as I was focused on washing Kaydens face I hadn’t noticed Sean walk too close to the waves. A wave rolled in and Sean lost his balance and fell in the water. Aw man! He wasn’t injured at all, just a bit wet and shocked by the cold. Kayden started cracking up at this and that set his mood right again. But that was the end of our morning outing.

Kayden moves so much when he is doing his school. I think he is trying to use his body to think. His body seems like a big brain organ twisting around trying to find the answer. haha
