Hey and Happy Halloween to you all.
Just wanted to share with you all a Halloween project I worked on about a 2 weeks ago. It started when my wife decided to have a little Halloween party with the kids and we would be inviting some of Kayden’s friends and their family over to play games and gorge on sugary goodness. She asked me to make a small sign to welcome our guests. I agreed and set to work creating something that was supposed to be simple, but I ended up spending all of my free time for the next 2 days working on it. My little artist twitch kicked in and I just couldn’t make something simple and thrown together.
So here is the project as it was made step by step.
1) cutting out colored paper into pumpkin shapes.
2) Coloring pumpkin shapes to look like a more 3 dimensional pumpkin.
3) repeat 2 and 2 to make another one.
so I have to pumpkin shapes.

Got some work done on the Amazon Priestess I’m working on.
First here is the original sketch

And the progress! The hair took awhile to do. Quite intricate and time consuming, but I’m very happy with the way it turned out.

Some days I really don’t have it. And by “it” I mean the ability to draw well. Some days I really feel like I can draw a master piece, you know, I feel the creative juices in my body zooming and then I draw something and it is so bad. I feel so let down.

Sean is really starting to like playing games and interacting with me. I’ve been play a game with him where I sneak up behind him and say “Ba!” (Which is pretty much saying “Boo!” in Japanese) and Sean would laugh and run away. But I was always the instigator of this game and have always been the one chasing him. Now however Sean has started coming up to me at random times during the day and grabbing my legs and saying “BA!”

Here is a little art I quickly drew up (threw up?) in the small bit of personal time I had. It’s a bit messy and not as clean as I’d like, but I think it is quite beautiful. The concept of the piece is quite random. I don’t think anybody who first glances at this photo will think it has anything at all to do with mothers. haha
The pink tree is supposed to be the mother tree and the other big tree is the father tree and those are two little saplings representing children (my two sons to be exact)
Like I said…totally random concept.
Any ways here is to all Mothers who work tirelessly to provide the best for their children in whatever way possible. Becoming a mother is not about having a child, it’s about changing your whole life around to care for and nurture him/her. Its about setting aside your personal wants and needs and placing the needs and wants of your children in front of your own. Not an easy thing to do! So if you have accomplished this amazing self sacrificing feat, then this day is for you. I hope that your children (or husband or whoever) pays special attention to you and makes you feel like all the work you do was worth it. I hope all you mothers get a little spoiled on this special day.
Cheers to all the hard working mothers…and Grandmothers too.
