Kayden has been facing a little problem at mealtimes recently. If the food isn’t really to his liking he will take ages, eons, century’s to finish his food. He will sit and talk and laugh and stare into space…basically anything, but eat.

It’s been a very busy week. Grandma came over for a visit again from the 23rd of April. We were all very excited to see her, but Kayden was especially happy. He helped prepare Grandmas bedding and cleaned the room with me.

We went to pick her up from the highway bus at 7:30 that night. Grandma had brought some gifts from Kayden’s friends. They wanted to give the presents to Kayden and Sean for their birthdays, but since they live a bit far away, they gave it to Grandma to bring to us. It was very nice and it was like a birthday all over again for my kids. Kayden got a truck and a sleek car and Sean got a cool airplane. So nice!

when life hands you a lemon

Lol! I know every parent has tried this one time or another. Not just with lemons, but with other foods too. It is so interesting what reaction you’re going to get from your child when you present them with new foods.

Ok its my time to give an account of my days doings.
I took the kids around 11:00 today and we went out to the beach again (Kaydens request) . Sean threw rocks in the water as usual, but Kayden had a sudden desire to look for hidden treasure…where this idea came from is beyond me. I asked him what treasure we were going to be searching for today and he said that it was a golden treasure. So he gave me a long stick and said that it was a magic stick that would lead us to the treasure. He held a little stick which he said was his shooter. And this is how we searched for this mysterious treasure.

Meal time is a happy time?

So this is a exaggeration obviously, but since Sean is teething he is really really cranky at mealtimes. He is also very particular about how he eats. a bite of food and then a sip of water…or not. I like rice today, but tomorrow…? He is quite a puzzle.

I’m hoping that it is all because his teeth are coming in and that he will eat normally once this phase is over. fingers crossed.

Kayden on the other hand has trouble eating because he is so amused with what Sean is doing. If Sean turns his head angrily…fits of laughter from Kayden. If Sean takes his bib off and throws it on the floor…fits of laughter from Kayden. I’m working on teaching Kayden that he can’t laugh when Sean does these things because it encourages the bad behavior. “I can’t help it!” he says smiling back at me.

sigh.
