This Saturday we went to a big festival. My wife’s co-worker told us that she would be participating in one of the big parade dance that was going to take place and asked her if she would like to come watch. So Joanie, the kids and I went. The festival was quite a big deal first thing we saw was a procession with men dressed in full Samurai armor. Continue reading »
This really happened.
It was with our first son.
My wife who had hardly had any emotional roller coasters during her first pregnancy really went for a ride after the baby was born.
For photographer Bob Carey and his wife Linda, a man-sized pink tutu has taken on incredible meaning in their fight against breast cancer. The Tutu Project started in 2003 when Carey donated a picture of himself wearing a custom-made ballet skirt as part of a fund raiser for the Arizona Ballet. Soon after, Linda was diagnosed with breast cancer. “It wasn’t about her when I started,” Carey tells Shine. But when she was recovering from surgery, he found it was the one thing he could do to take break. “It takes a lot of love for him to put that tutu on,” Linda tells Shine. “And it makes us laugh.”
We had another fun day with Grandma today and this time the sun was out in full force and it was a lovely day. Well the wind was blowing quite hard occasionally, but it was still a nice day.
The kids had breakfast with Mommy and Grandma. Grandma made a healthy oatmeal breakfast for us all. It was very nice. During breakfast Mommy and Kayden made a funny little man using a turnip and some toothpicks. It was very cute and Kayden and Mommy came all the way upstairs to show me and have me take a picture of it.
This Saturday and Sunday were Rainy cloudy days, but it was nothing but sunshine in our hearts. Our dear Grandma made a surprise visit and the kids were over joyed with this.
Grandma had brought Kayden a special gift. It was a cassette tape player! yeah, you know the kind that plays cassette tapes. Remember those thing? I had one when I was a boy. Kayden loves it and uses it to listen to music and story tapes before bed.
So another day has gone by and the kids are happy and accident free. Hurrah!
I took the kids around 11:00 again and we went out to the beach. I guess kids don’t get tired of doing the same thing over and over again, because that is what we did. Sean threw rocks in the pool while Kayden ran around on the rocks and getting his shoes, socks and pants wet. I have decided to try and stop going to the beach for awhile just so I don’t get more laundry to do. The water is also ruining Kayden’s shoes, but he loves to play by the beach so much. It’s too cold for flip flops and we don’t have boots either. Continue reading »
Ok its my time to give an account of my days doings.
I took the kids around 11:00 today and we went out to the beach again (Kaydens request) . Sean threw rocks in the water as usual, but Kayden had a sudden desire to look for hidden treasure…where this idea came from is beyond me. I asked him what treasure we were going to be searching for today and he said that it was a golden treasure. So he gave me a long stick and said that it was a magic stick that would lead us to the treasure. He held a little stick which he said was his shooter. And this is how we searched for this mysterious treasure.
